Edwin
Enjoying a unique partnership with Edwin spanning over 10 years, we are delighted to show you one of Japan's oldest denim manufacturers, having originally started life in 1947. Mr K.K. Tsunemi began his company selling used, well worn denim overalls from America to the Japanese people. However it wasn't until 1961 that the first domestically produced Edwin jean was available, igniting the brand to the forefront of innovation. An anagram of sorts on the word denim, Edwin coincidentally translates to 'rich friend,' and indeed was the case then and now; focusing on fit, quality and craftsmanship. Leading the way, Edwin lays claim to the world's first 16 oz ring spun heavy weight jean, constructed in its famous tri-colour selvage, woven exclusively by the Nisshinbo mill in Japan way back in 1963. The 70s and 80s saw Edwin introduce washes to the world, the first time this had been applied to denim in its hundred year history. Fast forward to today, and Edwin continues to stand for quality, innovation and integrity.
